The Hong Kong Reconciliation Center was established in 1999 and is the first non-profit professional mediation organization in Hong Kong. For fifteen years, we have been committed to promoting mediation. At present, the center has nearly a thousand professional mediation members. They are all professionals who are committed to advocating for mediation and come from different local sectors, such as medical care, education, legal, social, industrial and commercial, and construction engineering. Over the years, the Center has been actively cooperating with more than 30 mediation and arbitration institutions both locally and overseas to jointly promote mediation. It has also promoted Hong Kong's mediation methods to all over the world, which has made Hong Kong's reputation and status in international mediation increasingly enhanced.

The center focuses on the development of mediation services, especially in the area of ​​community mediation. It is hoped that through education and publicity, mediation can be further promoted to the community. In addition, the center also strives to implement mediation in the local language or English, hoping to provide suitable mediation services for those in need.

The center is composed of the council, committees and secretariat. The board of directors is responsible for formulating the center's policies, development direction and making relevant important decisions. There are different committees and working groups under the council, such as the Continuous Professional Development and Member Service Committee, the Appraisal and Accreditation Committee, the Education and Professional Training Committee, the Finance Committee, the Community Mediation Service Committee, the Disciplinary Committee, the Membership Affairs Committee, and China-Hong Kong Mediation Expert committees, etc., all committees need to be accountable to the board of directors and assist in the implementation of relevant policies. The secretariat is responsible for the center's daily conference management, providing advice and assistance to the board of directors, executing board resolutions and coordinating the work of various committees.
