On December 6, 2014, the third chairman meeting of the first session of the Guangdong,Hong Kong & Macao Arbitration & Mediation Alliance (hereinafter referred to as the "Alliance") was held in the new building of the Shenzhen Stock Exchange. Representatives of 14 alliance member institutions from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao gathered together to discuss and deliberate on issues such as the 2014 alliance work report, the 2015 alliance work plan, and the alliance mediator qualification training system.

 

Before the meeting began, Luo Dongchuan, President of the Fourth Civil Division of the Supreme People's Court, and Guo Xiaowen, Chairman of the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration, met with the representatives of the three places participating in the meeting.

Before the chairmanship meeting was held, after a written vote by the members of the alliance chairmanship meeting, the Macao World Trade Center Arbitration Center became the fourteenth member of the alliance, and the Macao World Trade Center Arbitration Center appointed Mr. Ma Shancai as the vice chairman of the alliance. So far, the alliance has six mainland members, seven members of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and one member of the Macao Special Administrative Region. They are: Shenzhen International Arbitration Court Mediation Center, Shenzhen Securities and Futures Industry Dispute Mediation Center, China Foreign Trade Center (Canton Fair Complaint Station), The Complaint Center for Private Enterprises of Guangdong Province, the Commercial Mediation Committee of the Shenzhen Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment, the Mediation and Arbitration Center of the Shenzhen General Chamber of Commerce, the Commercial Mediation Committee of the Hong Kong Chinese Enterprises Association, the Hong Kong Joint Mediation Hotline Office, the Hong Kong International Arbitration Center, the Hong Kong Mediation Council, and the Hong Kong Arbitration Department The Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors, the Hong Kong Settlement Center, the East Asia Chapter of the Chartered Institute of Arbitration, and the Macau World Trade Center Arbitration Center.

 

The secretariat of the alliance reported the 2014 annual work report of the alliance to the members of the chairperson meeting, and the members of the chairperson meeting affirmed the results of the year's work and approved it by unanimous vote.

 

After discussion and deliberation, this chairperson’s meeting agreed in principle to the alliance’s 2015 work plan and decided to hold a large-scale “Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Commercial Mediation Seminar” every year, which will be held in turn in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau, and will be the first in Qianhai in 2015. Hold. The conference also instructed the alliance secretariat to open the alliance's official website as soon as possible, and actively carry out commercial mediation services and joint training services.

 

The meeting also voted on the candidates for the secretary-general and deputy secretary-general of the Alliance Secretariat.

 

Responsible comrades from relevant departments of Qianhai Administration attended the meeting to introduce the latest development of Qianhai and expressed their strong support for the work of the alliance.

Introduction to the Guangdong,Hong Kong & Macao Arbitration & Mediation Alliance

 

The Guangdong,Hong Kong & Macao Arbitration & Mediation Alliance (hereinafter referred to as the "Mediation Alliance") is a commercial mediation cooperation platform jointly established by the South China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission Mediation Center and major commercial mediation institutions in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau on December 7, 2013 in Qianhai, Shenzhen. It aims to integrate commercial mediation resources in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau, strengthen business exchanges and cooperation between commercial mediation service agencies, and jointly improve the level of commercial mediation services in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau and the overall position in the Asia-Pacific region, and provide parties with professional, efficient and harmonious Mediation service.

 

The main functions of the mediation alliance are: 1. Assist the parties to use mediation to deal with commercial disputes. 2. Cooperating in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao to promote the resolution of commercial disputes through mediation, provide recommendation and referral services for parties interested in using mediation services, and transfer cases to mediation service agencies that have joined the mediation alliance for processing. 3. Strengthen the cooperation and exchanges between mediation service agencies and mediators in the mediation alliance, promote the mutual recognition and mutual employment of mediator qualifications among the members of the mediation alliance, jointly carry out mediation training and other mediation business seminars, and enhance the understanding of mediation from all walks of life .

 

As an open cooperation platform, the Mediation Alliance is open to all qualified commercial mediation institutions. The Secretariat of the Mediation Alliance is located in Qianhai, Shenzhen. The Mediation Center of the South China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission is responsible for the daily work of the Mediation Alliance Secretariat. The chairmanship of the Mediation Alliance will be held by representatives of Hong Kong, Guangdong and Macao in turn.
