(1). On Dec. 7, 2013, Guangdong, Hong Kong & Macau Mediation Alliance was founded in Qianhai, Shenzhen. Its founders include: South China International Economic And Trade Arbitration CommissionMediation Centre, Shenzhen Securities and Futures Dispute Resolution Centre, China Foreign Trade Centre (Canton Fair Complaint Station), Guangdong Federation of Industry & Commerce Mediation and Arbitration Centre(Guangdong Private EnterpriseComplaint Centre), Shenzhen Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment Commercial Mediation Committee, Shenzhen Federation of Industry & Commerce Mediation and Arbitration Center, The Hong Kong Chinese Enterprises Association Business Mediation Committee,Joint Mediation Helpline Office, Hong Kong International Arbitration Center Hong Kong Mediation Council, Hong Kong Institute of Arbitrators, The Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors and Hong Kong Mediation Centre. The first session of the first chairman meeting was held at the same day, on which GHMMA’s first chairman and first vice-chairman were elected. Barrister Derek Soh from Hong Kong Special Administration Region acted as the first chairman.Articles of Guangdong, Hong Kong & Macau Mediation Alliance (Draft) was adopted in principle.
(2). On Mar. 28, 2014, the second secession of the first chairman meeting of Guangdong, Hong Kong & Macau Mediation Alliance was held in Qianhai, Shenzhen, on which The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (East Asia Branch) became GHMMA’s the thirteenth member.
(3). In Oct. 2014, the members of the chairman meeting of GHMMA unanimously agreed through written vote that the World Trade Center Macau Arbitration Center joined in GHMMA and passed the Articles of Guangdong, Hong Kong & Macau Mediation Alliance (Revised Draft). So far, GHMMA increased its members up to 14: 6 from Guangdong, 7 from Hong Kong Special Administration Region and 1 from Macau Special Administration Region.
(4). On Dec. 6, 2014, the third secession of the first chairman meeting of Guangdong, Hong Kong & Macau Mediation Alliance was held in new building of Shenzhen Stock Exchange. The meeting passed 2014 annual work report of GHMMA through unanimous vote, agreed in principle upon the arrangement of 2015 work plan of GHMMA, and decided to hold a relatively-big Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau Commercial Mediation Seminar” in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macauin turns each year. The meeting also passed the candidates of secretary general and deputy secretary general of GHMMA Secretariat through vote.
(5). In Dec. 19, 2014, first commercial medication case of GHMMA was held in the international arbitration tribunal of Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration (South China International Economic And Trade Arbitration Commission) situated at Qianhai, Shenzhen and mediated the casesuccessfully. The parties concerned from Hong Kong involved in the commercial dispute in Chinese mainland. The attorney agents, mediators and arbitrators selected by the parties concerned were from Hong Kong, which proved that GHMMA is a quick, efficient and low-cost platform of settling cross-border disputes which involves in some professionals within and without the border, such as attorneys, mediators and arbitrators and gives full play to their professional skills.
